（授業の目的）
・To develop both growing confidence and enjoyment in using English as a communication tool to talk and write to classmates and the native English-speaking professor.
　英語をコミュニケーションツールとして活用し、クラスメートやネイティブの英語教員との会話や文章作成において、自信と楽しさを育むこと。
・To discover new and fresh interesting topics to study and discuss in English.
　英語で学び議論することで新しく新鮮で興味深いトピックを発見すること。

（受講生の到達目標）
1. By the end of the course, students will be able to more effectively and confidently understand spoken and written English.
　本コース修了時までに、学生はより効果的かつ自信を持って、会話や文章の英語を理解できるようになる。

授業中に英会話スキルを学習する。英語のコミュニケーション能力を養うとともに、英語を話す自信を身に着け、異文化理解を深める。

（授業の方法）
The class will be conducted entirely in English. Students will help each other in teams. You can speak in Japanese in the teams to check understanding of what to do. Always have a dictionary to check meaning and a notebook to write new words and class information.
授業はすべて英語で行うため、学生はチームで互いに助け合います。
チーム内では、課題の理解を確認するために日本語で話してかまいません。
英語の意味を確認するための辞書と、新しい単語や授業情報を書き留めるためのノートを常に用意してください。

（成績評価の方法）
・Weekly homework assignments and class attendance and participation 25%
・Midterm Exam 25%
・Final Exam 50%.
Note: Students who are absent from class and do not submit homework too many times without contacting the teacher and without good reasons, cannot take the Final Exam and might not be able to pass the course.
・毎週の宿題と授業への出席・参加度 25%
・中間試験 25%
・期末試験 50%。
注意：正当な理由なく無断で授業を欠席し、宿題の未提出回数が多い学生は、期末試験を受けることができず、単位を取得できない可能性があります。
